For decades’ women across the world have to fight for their rights and protection. Women across the Arab world are also fighting multiple forms of harassment they have to face from the opposite sex.

Centuries of mental conditioning and normalization of unfair behavior by males has made it extremely difficult for Saudi Women to break through the tyrannical attitude imposed on them.

Many Arab and Muslim countries like Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco have recently made new laws to tackle sexual harassment. But due to fear of judgment by society or lack of education or any other reason women themselves are not prepared to use laws. But there are 8 reasons that you must fight sexual harassment.

1-The shaming and blaming a victim woman should end now: The woman who attempts to fight against her aggravator and struggles the growing issue of sexual harassment in her community is blamed and shamed by people. They in return blame the woman that she might be involved to some extent.

2-Boys will be boys, they will never change: Whenever a woman tries to take any action against sexual harassment, the community stops her saying boys will be boys, they cannot resist harassing. This statement is taken to justify the men and blame the woman.

3-Don’t think it just a compliment: Normalizing spoken harassment and hiding its ugly reality with flattery does not reduce the damaging and long-term influence it has on women and young girls on a daily basis. Spoken harassment is not just a compliment they pass.

4-You can’t fight the system: This message is commonly used throughout the Arab countries. Nobody is born a fighter. If you want justice you will have to fight and yes you can fight, you have the power to fight for yourself and prove this statement wrong in every aspect.

5-It was probably your fault: This is the statement that women all around the world have to face after harassment. Don’t let the world to blame you saying it was your fault. It is believed that being a woman is a fault. Whatever she does or wear doesn’t attract to men, the main thing attracts them is being a woman.

6-They will say that you are doing all this to seek attention from others: A woman who intends to fight they really want attention, attention to raising awareness about an epidemic that has entered almost every woman’s peace of mind in her lifetime.

7-It could have gone a lot worse: Women are told to surrender themselves to the violation. She tolerates because there are more shameful crimes that many women experienced. She is forced to stop taking any action for her betterment. But women should unite to fight for the betterment of other women.

8-Make a big deal: Edmund Burke said the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good wo(men) to do nothing.” Physical and oral harassment are the parts of her life, a woman has to face throughout her woman life.

Unfortunately, women tolerate becoming the victim of undesirable words and physical abuse. To stop people blaming her, and saying these are the daily terrors she will have to face throughout her life because she is a woman. Therefore, women should unite altogether to fight against their harassment.
