Degree Attestation From India For Saudi

2015-Apr-17

Who hasn’t dreaded getting their degrees attested for domestic or foreign use? Although domestic attesting is easy in most countries, foreign attestations have stricter procedures regarding attestation of educational degrees.
Recently one of our regular readers has sent us the proper way of getting your degrees attested from India for the use of Saudi Arabia. For the degree to be attested, one should follow the following procedures.
The procedure of attesting degrees is same for all the countries with few differences. We have already explained about the general procedure of attesting degrees in this link “Procedure to Attest Degrees for Saudi Arabia”.
 I would recommend you to go through this link before reading the below procedure which might have some shortcomings. The Degree needs to be attested from the following institutions;
The College University who issued the degree
Notary (required in some states of India)
Attestation from higher education department something called HRD (for AP and Telangana its GAD
Attestation from Ministry of External Affairs (MEA)
All these attestations are done from the secretariat in the capital of the respective state
 Saudi Culture Attaché
 Saudi Embassy
When the reply to the verification letter by the embassy is done by the educational institute, it is extremely important that it should be on the official letterhead, and enclosed in the official envelope.
The reply letter should also include the fact whether the student was a regular enrollment or a distance learning student, along with all relevant information.
Once the documents have reached the Saudi cultural attaché, applicants should expect the process to take another 15-20 days.

As reported by the reader, applicants should also keep in mind that it takes this long due to the lazy nature of the Indian education system. It is also important that the applicants regularly check in with the college or university regarding the verification letter.
This process takes shape once bribes are given to the Indian officials. Once the reply is made to the verification letter, as I mentioned earlier, it should not take more than 20 days to get it attested by the Saudi Cultural attaché and the Saudi Embassy.

The reader also states that along with the following documents the applicant must submit their offer letter or Original Job contract, which has been attested by the Saudi Chamber of Commerce and MOFA.
Personally, I don’t think there could have been a simpler and helpful guide to getting your attestation done, and I am thankful to our reader for sharing this with me, and all the other readers.

I am sure this will benefit a lot of people who were previously unaware of how to go about the procedure. I also believe that countries which have a high number of workforce working in another country, for instance, Indians in Saudi Arabia, they should open a branch of their Higher Education Authority in the respective Embassy, so that it is much easier for people to get their degrees attested if they have not done so in the respective countries.
At the end of the day, I would like to welcome all new workers on their way to Saudi Arabia. I am sure they will be pleased, although the culture is more conservative than what most people think; it is compensated for by the beauty, class and rich historical significance of Saudi Arabia.
Mr. आसिया रईस has shared the procedure of attesting degrees from Maharashtra and Hyderabad. For your degrees from Maharashtra or MP, Ministry of External Affairs cannot be done from those states.
You have to send it to Delhi only. Ministry of External Affairs is available in 5 cities in India, including Hyderabad (others cities are Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Guwahati).
From Hyderabad, you can submit attested degrees of Karnataka, Telangana, and AP only. The easiest way in MP in Bhopal (HRD), no notary required. They give you a form, fill it up and along with it submit Xerox of mark sheets, passport, and passport size photo. Submit in and its done right away. Free of cost.
Degrees from Hyderabad: In Hyderabad, which is GAD, you have to get your convocation notarized. There are advocates in front of the secretariat which do it for you. It costs you around INR 200. After that, GAD will cost you INR 250.
INR 500 for tatkal. In tatkal, you submit in the morning and get back in the evening. You have to submit your 10/12/consolidated/passport all Xerox with a passport size photo. For regular, it takes 4 days. The next day you can submit again for Ministry of External Affairs, this one is free.
Degrees from Maharashtra: In Maharashtra, you have to first authorize from your university. Then notary is done. Submission for HRD is on Mondays and Tuesdays and you get them back on Thursday and Fridays.
There is no Tatkal procedure here. Once done you can send for Ministry of External Affairs and other procedures to Delhi. I have personally done this so I am aware of it. Once I complete the other procedure, will Insha Allah share with you the procedure?
By the way, there are agents who do it for u. They charge INR 4000 for HRD and Ministry of External Affairs both.
