The Masjid Shaikhain has a special mention in Islamic history as it was the mosque where Prophet Muhammad PBUH and his companions stayed during the battle of uhud preparations. Here are a few facts about the very mosque:
1-On the 14th of Shaban during 3 A.H Prophet Muhammad PBUH offered his eve’s prayer at the Masjid Shaikhain. The date relates to the battle of Uhud. All the battle preparations were also made at the very location.
2-It is reported that the blessed day of Friday, Prophet Muhammad PBUH offered his Jumma prayers and marched along with the army to the battlefield. He PBUH offered his following prayers at Uhad. Yet when he returned on the next day, he offered his Fajr prayer at the Masjid Shaikhain.
3-The battle preparations were made at the mosque, so much so that the Muslim community of Madinah moved towards the place. Women, children and elderly were given shelter there while men planned for battle with the Prophet.

4-The army was reviewed there and then it was decided that who is going for the battlefield and the people who would stay behind and protect families. Young boys also participated with a strong faith in the battle preparations. Yet these young boys were not allowed to go for the battle by the Prophet PBUH.
5-Interestingly when Rafi (may Allah be pleased with him) was introduced to the Prophet PBUH by his father Khudaji (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet PBUH got inspired by Rafi and allowed him to become part of the Muslim army. Rafi was great at Archery.
When Samrah-bin-Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) discovered about Rafi’s entrance and his rejection, he complained and claimed that he was better than Rafi. When the Prophet PBH learned about it, he asked them to wrestle so that the truth gets revealed. Samrah was able to defeat Rafi and thereby made his place in the Muslim army.
